First Friday Concert Series

The First Friday Concert Series runs from October through May on the first Friday of the month (unless noted) at 2:00 pm. All concerts take place in the Shattuck Community Room on the first floor and are free & open to the public. Join us!

Classical Guitar with Christopher Cramer
Performing music from the Renaissance through the 20th century, including works by the following composers: Fernando Sor, Robert Johnson, John Dowland, Johann Kaspar Mertz, Leo Brouwer and Isaac Albeniz.Dr. Cramer currently serves on the faculty at Beloit College, where he teaches studio guitar lessons and directs the guitar ensemble program. He also teaches guitar related courses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Rock County.

Welcome spring with poems and music that celebrate the magic and mischievousness of nature! Works by Purcell, Wolf, Mozart, Holst, as well as selections from Lori Laitman's "I never saw another butterfly" to be sung with saxophonist Jesse Dochnahl. Nell Buchman, accompanist.

Bee Alford and Erik Leveille
Featuring Erik Leveille on violin and Bee Alford on vocals, mandolin, banjo. The repertoire will include traditional fiddle tunes such as Kitchen Gal, more contemporary ones such as Ashokan Farewell, original songs by Be Alford and songs by other contemporary artists such as Iris DeMent and Gillian Welch.
