History Program-The Civil War and Central Wisconsin

Did you know that this year marks the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War? Join us as the Neenah Historical Society and the Neenah Public Library feature local historian, Kim Heltemes, when he presents "The Civil War and Central Wisconsin," on Thursday, March 19th, at 7 pm. Much has been written and presented on the Civil War, but what about our local story? What role did our citizens play in this historic conflict? Were citizens in favor of the war? What role did our local soldiers play in the famous battle at Gettysburg? Bringing the Civil War story home to our community will be Mr. Heltemes' goal as he presents this unique program.

Suburban Homesteading-Tree Planting

Tree planting is a skill; it’s not just a matter of “green side up.” You can control many factors, but if you miss some of the most important, it could imperil the long-term success of the tree.  In addition, proper pruning is a skill that enhances the beauty of almost any landscape tree, while improper pruning can ruin or greatly reduce its landscape potential and health.  Planting and pruning, like any other skill, requires knowing what you are doing to achieve success. Come learn about proper planting and pruning techniques and some of the most common mistakes made.

A presentation with Kimberly Miller, Horticulture Educator, Winnebago County UW-Extension on Monday, April 13 at 6:30 pm.

Date of Event:
Apr 13 2015 - 6:30pm
