Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an invasive wood boring pest that is native to Asia. Since its discovery in the U.S. in 2002, it has killed untold millions of ash trees in managed and natural landscapes across North America. EAB was discovered in Wisconsin in 2008 and in Winnebago County in 2013. As EAB spreads, it has devastating economic and environmental impacts to our communities. A key to slowing EAB spread is early detection, rapid response, and not moving infested material. Are you wondering why should I care? Where is it located? How does it spread? What can I do? If so, then this presentation is for you. Some topics that will be covered include how to identify an ash tree and EAB, available treatment options and how EAB will affect your community as a whole.
