Saturday, August 11

Who knew that dogs love stories too? Sign up for Neenah Public Library’s Pooches & Pages: Kids Reading to Therapy Dogs. Children in first through sixth grade may sign up for a fifteen-minute reading appointment between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Pooches & Pages is held on the second Saturday of every month. It is a reading program designed to build reading confidence and self-esteem, help a child maintain focus for a longer period of time, and increase the motivation to read. Dogs are carefully selected to ensure a safe and fun experience, and the owner/handlers are library volunteers who love helping children become enthusiastic readers. The dogs are gentle, calm and polite and listen patiently and without judgment as a child reads aloud.
