Enjoy your day off from school being creative.  All supplies will be provided.  For ages 10 and up.

Thursday, March 1

The Girlfriends Read Book Club at the Neenah Public Library will meet on Thursday, March 1 at 4:00 p.m.  Girlfriends Read features books with strong girl characters, written for ages nine and up but with broad appeal. Meetings include lively discussion, book-related activities, and snacks. Participants are welcome to attend solo or with a friend or family member.

Join us in reading Emma-Jean Lazarus Fell Out of a Tree by Lauren Tarshis.  Follow Emma-Jean as she transitions from being an extraordinary observer of her middle-school world into a helpful, thoughtful, problem-solver.  With inspiration from the way her father lead his life, Emma-Jean is confident she can logically solve problems for her classmates Colleen and Will and her friend Vikram, whether they want her help or not.  Along the way, Emma-Jean learns to connect with the people in her world in ways that she could not when she was just an observer.  She discovers how to follow her heart.

To register and get a copy of the book, stop at the Neenah Library youth desk, call for more information at 920-886-6335, or email us at youthdesk@neenahlibrary.org.  Register early – space is limited, as are the number of books available for loan.  *Books will be available at the youth desk beginning February 1, 2018.

Back by very popular demand, the Neenah Public Library is excited to announce free Ukulele Classes Thursdays from 6:00pm - 7:00pm, Jan 18th - March 8th taught by Sam ‘Ālika Bader. All skill levels are encouraged to attend these beginner lessons. Be sure to bring your ukulele.

Then stick around afterward for an open jam session. Everyone is invited. Bring music you're working on, something you're having trouble with, play a solo or a duet for the group, play along with your fellow ukers. All skill levels welcome!
