February Workshop: Paper Flowers

Let your creativity bloom! Learn how to make a variety of paper flowers at this workshop.  
 

Unleash your creativity! Join us at the library each month, October to May, at 6:00 PM. Each DIY workshop will feature a different design project. All supplies will be provided and registration is not required.

Projects offered in the DIY Design Workshops are designed for teens and adults.

Join us for conversation, refreshments, and of course, knitting! 

The first & third Wednesdays of each month (unless otherwise noted) at 6:30pm in the 2nd floor Carpenter Room.


Bring your latest project or one that you are struggling to complete. Learn about charity knitting projects. 

For new knitters, experienced knitters, crocheters and other needle crafters - all ages are welcome!

Volunteers with AARP will be at the library Thursdays beginning at 11:30 to help low- to moderate- income taxpayers and seniors prepare their tax returns.

Appointments required. Call 920-215-1040 to schedule an appointment Monday through Friday. Appointment hotline opens mid-January.

 

Drop in for a friendly game of chess every Thursday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to attend. Even if you have never played, but are interested in learning, stop by and we will teach you. No registration or chess boards required. Chess is played on the library's second floor.

Free weekly ukulele workshops with Sam ‘Ālika Bader begins Thursday, January 17. At the Thursday workshops, Sam will teach new skills, new techniques, and new songs – something new every week! For confident beginners, advanced beginners, and intermediate level ukulele players.

Workshops are held on Thursdays, from January 17 through March 14, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Library’s Storytime Room. No registration required and no fee. Attend a few or all nine workshops.

Sam, a multi-instrumentalist and native Hawaiian, has been playing ukulele from the age of 9. He has been teaching group ukulele classes at the Library since 2016.

Don’t be late to class! Join the Neenah Historical Society on February 21, at 7 p.m. at the Neenah Library for “Wisconsin Maps: Stories They Tell.” This fun and interactive program will be presented by Appleton Historical Society president, Tom Sutter, who will transform our gathering into a 4th grade classroom setting with famous Wisconsin historian of the past, Dr. Reuben Gold Thwaites, teaching the class. “Students” will take a fascinating journey through Wisconsin’s past and have the opportunity to examine many old maps of the state and local area. Bring music you're working on, something you're having trouble with, play a solo or a duet for the group, play along with your fellow ukers. All skill levels welcome!

Ukers will meet in the first floor Story Time Room.

The Friends of the Neenah Public Library will hold their annual magazine sale, Saturday, February 23 from 10:30 a.m.—3:45 p.m. Magazines are $.25 each or 5 for $1.00.

All proceeds from the sale will benefit the mission of the Friends of the Neenah Public Library.

 

Sunday, February 24

All remaining magazines are FREE Sunday, February 24 from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

 

Are you interested in learning how to play Dungeons and Dragons? Join us every Sunday at 1:00pm in the second floor Aylward Room at the Neenah Public Library. This friendly Dungeons and Dragons group is always looking for few more adventurers. This is a great introduction for newbies, or people simple looking for a gaming group. No registration is required for this free event.

This is group is for adults 18 and older.
