Picture of an I Survived book

Neenah Library’s Engaging Reads summer book group for kids ages 8-11 will hold its second meeting at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26. Share the thrill of a good book during our lively group discussion and interactive nature survival presentation by a guest naturalist. Snacks will be provided.

Select one or two or more titles from Lauren Tarshis’s I Survived series; there are 18 titles in all. Titles include The Sinking of the Titanic, The Japanese Tsunami, and The Destruction of Pompeii. These historical fiction books will take you back in time to discover disastrous events through the telling of a young main character. Follow this character on his or her quest for survival. Read, think, and share your adventure with us at our meeting. Do you have what it takes to survive?

Copies of the books are available at the youth desk. Kids can read the book alone or enjoy as a family read-aloud.

All programs are sensory friendly.  Everyone is welcome and celebrated.  There is no right way to join in!  For specific information about any program, call (920) 886-63365, or email us at youthdesk@neenahlibrary.org.
