Monday, October 1

Join the Neenah Public Library Monday, October 1st at 6:30pm for “Excel 101: An Absolute Beginner’s Guide.” This entry level class is perfect for those that have always wanted to learn Microsoft Excel, but weren’t sure where to start. We will cover the basics including cell formatting, simple formulas, and more. Basic computer skills are required, but newbies are encouraged to attend. Please contact the library to register.

JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM (PG, 128 minutes )

Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard

When the island's dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen and Claire mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.

Wednesday, October 3

Learn the process of linoleum printmaking at the Neenah Public Library Wednesday, October 3rd at 6:30pm. Join instructor Stephanie Harvey as she provides a quick crash course on printmaking and the print process. Use your knowledge to carve your own linocut and create your very own prints. There is no fee for this free class, and all supplies are included. However, there is limited seating. Please reserve your spot at the library’s second floor reference desk or by calling 920-886-6315. Ages 16 and over.

Thursday, October 4

Musician and native Hawaiian, Sam ‘Ālika Bader will be teaching a four-week ukulele class from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Library’s Storytime Room. Bring your own ukulele or reserve one of the Library’s ukuleles. An extra loaner ukulele is also available for use during classes.

A ukulele open jam follows each Thursday night class. Open to anyone interested in playing with other ukulele players. Bring your own ukulele – banjoleles and guitars welcome, too (and whatever else you’d like to play). Music provided – or bring a piece you’d like to share with others. The open jams are held from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Bring music you're working on, something you're having trouble with, play a solo or a duet for the group, play along with your fellow ukers. All skill levels welcome!

 

Drop in for a friendly game of chess every Thursday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to attend. Even if you have never played, but are interested in learning, stop by and we will teach you. No registration or chess boards required. Chess is played on the library's second floor.

Learn about student loan repayment plans, and options for managing your student loan debt.  Presentation by Peter Spaeth, Consumer Credit Counselor at FISC (Financial Information and Service Center).

Sunday, October 7

In partnership with Lawrence University, the Neenah Public Library is excited to announce, “Giants of Jazz.” Each of the four performances will highlight a different jazz legend and will begin with a brief lecture; offering a historical context and a lesson on jazz appreciation. Then Lawrence students will perform selected works by the featured artist. Join us for our first session on Thelonious Monk, Sunday October 7th at 2:00pm in the library’s Shattuck Room.
